Newsom has faced a backlash since it was revealed last week that he and his wife dined with at least a dozen people from multiple households at The French Laundry, a Michelin-starred restaurant in Napa County, on November 6. The crash took place after an officer had stopped the vehicle near Mission Avenue and Gamble Street in Escondido for a traffic violation at around 11.20 p.m. on Friday, Escondido Police Lt.
