Late Friday night/early Saturday morning, while trying to earn an upset victory over No. 8 ranked Washington State, Cal Golden Bears QB Ross Bowers took to the skies with an absolutely insane front-flip touchdown.
Sure, he was given a little bit of a boost from the Wazzou defenders there to finish the rotation, but the launch angle is impressive enough.
While he didn’t stick the landing — and, reasonably so, considering the mass of chunky football players in his landing spot — the athleticism to get into the air was wild. He took off from just inside the 5-yard line.
The Washington State judges gave it a 3 — as in, the 3 points they had at the time of the highlight-reel score, as Bowers’ touchdown gave the Golden Bears a 27-3 lead.
