Carolina quarterback Cam Newton, who has been dealing with a foot injury, is considered “day-to-day, not week-to-week,” according to a report from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Newton was ruled out for Carolina’s matchup with the Cardinals on Sunday and Kyle Allen started in his place.

Rapoport added:

Newton originally hurt his foot in the preseason and re-aggravated the injury in Carolina’s 20-14 loss to the Buccaneers in Week 2. The team has not given an official timetable for his return.

Newton has completed 50 of his 89 passes for 572 yards with an interception and two fumbles in two appearances this season. He has yet to score a touchdown.

The Panthers entered their game against Arizona with an 0-2 record.
