But instead of opening a fancy restaurant using his C1N logo, he’s rolling out a funky new food truck covered in murals of, well, himself doing his signature “Superman” and “first down” poses Panthers fans have come to love.

“Believe me when I say, this is NOT just your average food truck. But you knew that already,” Newton said on Instagram. “Without further adieu I present to you, Smokin’ Aces!”

Smokn’ Aces, as it’s spelled on the black and blue truck, will debut Sunday when the Panthers host the 49ers in their home opener. Fans around the stadium will choose from fish, chicken and other items.

Mark Paul Deren, or MADSTEEZ as he’s known as an artist, painted the giant Newton murals on the truck.

“He originally contacted me through Instagram, I believe through a direct message, almost a year ago now,” Deren told ESPN.com. “He was just like, ‘Hey, how can I get some canvas pieces from you?’ So that kind of started the relationship.

“Now he’ll randomly Facetime me. He’ll go, ‘Hey, what’s going on?’ We’ll randomly talk. Then, like a month or two ago he said, ‘Hey, I need a favor from you. Are you around?’ That’s when we started talking about the truck.”

All proceeds from the truck’s debut weekend will go toward a program for at-risk individuals in Charlotte.
