Sanderson was arrested earlier in the evening.

“Myles Sanderson was located and taken into police custody near Rosthern, SK at approximately 3:30 p.m. today. There is no longer a risk to public safety relating to this investigation. Updates to come.”

A Canadian coroner has already identified the 10 people killed in the mass stabbing. They range from ages 23-78, and nine of them were part of the remote Indigenous community called James Smith Cree Nation.

There were an additional 18 people injured in the attacks, with one of them a teenager and the rest of them being adult men and women.

It’s being called one of the worst acts of violence in the country’s history.

The names of the injured have not yet been released.

The mass stabbings had two suspects early on, one of whom was already dead before Wednesday. Saskatchewan RCMP officers at James Smith Cree Nation on Monday said the body of Damien Sanderson, 31, was found about two hours away in Regina. It was believed that Myles Sanderson was injured at the time, according to witnesses, the RCMP stated.

“A deceased male was located on the James Smith Cree Nation,” Saskatchewan RCMP Commanding Officer Assistant Commissioner Rhonda Blackmore said. “It was confirmed by Saskatchewan RCMP Forensic Investigation Section that the deceased is Damien Sanderson. His body was located outdoors in a heavily grassed area in proximity to a house that was being examined.

“We can confirm he has visible injuries,” she continued. “These injuries are not believed to have been self-inflicted at this point. The exact cause of death will be determined in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Office, with the date and time for that examination to be determined. Myles Sanderson, Damien’s brother, may have sustained injuries. This has not been confirmed.”

The person “armed with a knife” was traveling in a stolen car in Kakaw.
