“First of all, I had to prepare our team to play for tomorrow’s game and I haven’t yet gotten any medical confirmation that he’s coming back to play for tomorrow’s game,” Canadiens coach Michel Therrien said in French while explaining Pacioretty’s absence. “Will there be a medical clearance tomorrow? I don’t know yet. I will be surprised if he’s playing. We’ll see tomorrow.”
The Canadiens’ leading scorer initially sustained an upper-body injury that appeared to be a concussion on April 5 against the Panthers after being checked head-first into the boards. As a result, he missed the final two regular-season games.
