After an 89-84 victory Tuesday night by Parker’s Los Angeles Sparks, the former No. 1 selection reflected on her former coach in an interview with ESPN’s Holly Rowe. Parker was exceptional in the win, scoring 31 points, and recording a season-high 13 rebounds.
She even wore orange shoes with the word ‘‘rebound’’ on them.
“It was difficult, but I felt a lot of strength from her and the Lady Vol family," Parker said in the postgame interview. “Obviously it was a special night today, and we all played with heavy hearts.”
Summitt meant a lot to Parker, but she also played a big role in Rowe’s life as well.
Before Tuesday night’s game, Parker shared a letter sent from Summitt to her.
