Wacha, 23, was the most valuable player in 2013’s NL Championship Series, outpitching Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw twice.
Wednesday’s announcement came as no surprise. Wacha had trouble regaining form after a long layoff caused by a shoulder injury.
Acquired from Boston at the trade deadline, Lackey beat the Cardinals twice in the 2013 World Series and finished this season strongly. Miller barely pitched last fall because of workload concerns combined with season-long difficulties against division series opponent Pittsburgh.
