Price also earned a share of the previously announced Jennings Trophy with Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford, in recognition of one of the greatest regular seasons for a goalie in NHL history. Price led the league with 44 wins, a 1.96 goals-against average and a .933 save percentage; he is the first to collect the “goalie hat trick” since Chicago’s Ed Belfour in 1991.
Price, 27, is the first goalie to win the Hart Trophy since Jose Theodore claimed it with the Avalanche in 2002. He had not previously won a regular-season award in his eight-year career.
