Carrasco originally was scheduled to start Sunday against the Twins. Cabrera lay motionless after being struck in the first inning Tuesday by a line drive off the bat of the White Sox’s Melky Cabrera.
“That’s not a good feeling,” Indians manager Terry Francona said, according to MLB.com. “When he’s just laying there, man, that’s scary.”
According to multiple reports, Carrasco underwent X-rays and a CT scan, among other tests, at Cleveland’s Lutheran Hospital and returned to the ballpark before Tuesday’s game was over. He was feeling better each hour after the frightening incident, according to Francona, and even did some arm exercises before heading home for the night.
