To recall: Gomez, the Milwaukee Brewers' mercurial center fielder, sparked a benches-clearing brawl last September when he styled and shouted his way toward home plate after taking Paul Maholm deep. Then-Braves catcher Brian McCann got in Gomez's face (and in the baseline), and the dance was on. McCann's now enforcing unwritten rules with the Yankees.
On Tuesday, Gomez hit Alex Wood's first pitch over the center-field fence at Miller Park. McCann's successor, Evan Gattis, couldn't say anything as Gomez sprinted around second like he was running out a triple and maintained a solid pace to home.
