One unidentified NL general manager told CBSSports.com that the Rockies are expected to move star outfielder Carlos Gonzalez before Friday’s non-waiver trade deadline.
TRADE RUMORS: Jonathan Papelbon | Justin Upton | David Price
Gonzalez suffered through a sluggish start to the season but has since caught fire. He’s batting .405 during July with 10 home runs, 23 RBIs and a 1.328 OPS, bringing his season totals to 20 homers and 51 RBIs with a .278 batting average.
Gonzalez is under contract through 2017 and slated to make $43 million.
The Mets, Angels and Orioles are all reportedly in the market for a heavy hitter in the outfield.
