The former Bengals receiver on Monday posted an image to Twitter showing he had tipped $1,000 for a $37.40 meal at a restaurant in Cooper City, Fla. — a 2,574 percent tip. He shared the image with his usual caption of “Proverbs 11:25.”

Johnson has a history of tipping well , often based on stats from his career; some examples include tipping $540, based off his receiving yards in 2008, and $276, the number of yards he had with the Patriots.
Many of his tips also include a note explaining why he tipped that amount. That was the case in Johnson’s latest tip: “Congrats on re-opening,” he wrote. “Sorry about the pandemic, hope this helps. ‘I LOVE YOU.’”
All told, another stand-up gesture by Johnson — especially as businesses try to regain their footing during the COVID-19 pandemic.
