Burton Albion managed to pry themselves off the bottom, while Aston Villa picked up their first win of the season at the fourth attempt.

CHAMPIONSHIP FIXTURES

Two Championship games will be broadcast live this week. Aston Villa’s visit to Bristol City opens the coverage on Friday evening as Steve Bruce’s side look to build on last weekend’s big win over Norwich City, while Nottingham Forest and Leeds United conclude the coverage on Saturday.

Wolves will aim to bounce back from their first loss of the season when they play Brentford away on Saturday. Cardiff City and Ipswich Town will be hoping to continue their 100 per cent start when they face Queens Park Rangers and Fulham respectively.

Three teams are promoted from the Championship to the Premier League, with the top two automatically achieving promotion.

The coveted third promotion spot is awarded to the winner of the Championship play-off, which involves the teams that finish from third to sixth in the table and is played after the regular schedule.

At the conclusion of the season, the bottom three teams are relegated to League One.

CHAMPIONSHIP TV COVERAGE

Sky Sports have the rights to the Championship - and the entirety of the Football League - this season and will be broadcasting games on their Sky Sports Football channel. They can also be streamed via Sky Go.

As noted above, two games will be shown this weekend: Bristol City vs Aston Villa will be broadcast live on Friday, while Nottingham Forest vs Leeds United conclude’s the weekend coverage.
