THIS YEAR I DID MOST OF MY SHOPPING ONLINE, with almost 100 percent satisfaction. I avoided the crowds and the fistfights over parking spaces–basically the American Christmas experience. Thanks to your early heads-up on Furbys, I was able to place an order online the day they went on sale through Toys ““R’’ Us. The following day I received a phone call from a pleasant woman telling me that there were so many orders, mine would not ship for two weeks. That same evening I was e-mailed and asked to call the customer-service department, which informed me of the same thing. It makes you think there’s hope for our society, at least online.
