When even Larry King is visiting UFO landing sites, ““The Other Side’’ might seem like venality as usual. But it could also encourage any viewers watching to keep listening to the voices in their heads, and to keep believing in the glassy-eyed charlatans whose ““services’’ the show shamelessly promotes. At least the opening no longer promises an ““objective look’’ at its out-there subject matter. Last month NBC’s legal department pushed for the less litigious ““compelling look.’’ Well, not that compelling. The No. 1 network’s reward for pandering to the lowest crackpot denominator has been dismal ratings. Next time NBC gets into the trash-talk business, it should call a psychic hot line first.
