Amid reports that the Chargers would seriously consider a move to London, the L.A. owner didn’t mince words on how false that is.

The Athletic’s Vincent Bonsignore reported Tuesday that NFL personnel were probing the idea of a potential Chargers move to London, and that the Chargers would listen to the offering if they were approached. The NFL issued a statement later Tuesday, saying “there is no substance whatsoever to this report.”
The Chargers are set to move into a new stadium next season alongside fellow Los Angeles team, the Rams. The $4.5 billion stadium is located in Inglewood, Calif.
The Los Angeles — formerly San Diego — Chargers have been in L.A. since the start of the 2017 season, after repeated rebuffs by the town to build a new stadium in San Diego.
Meanwhile, the NFL is no stranger to Europe and all signs point to a team being stationed overseas at some point. It just doesn’t sound like the Chargers are that team — for now.
Maybe the Chargers can take a page from another California team, the Angels of MLB. “The Los Angeles Chargers of London via San Diego” just rolls off the tongue, really.
