But just because he doesn’t have a Twitter account doesn’t mean he’s not paying attention to what athletes are putting on the social media platform. During an interview with Sports Illustrated’s Richard Deitsch, Barkley gave some Twitter advice to Thunder star Kevin Durant.

Durant is one of the rare superstar athletes who will actually engage with people on Twitter. If you look at his Twitter account, he’s continually responding to peple who tweet at him. He once said he was deleting Twitter from his phone, but he still remains active.
Barkley had some broader advice for young athletes on Twitter.
“I would say stay away but there is a never a right or wrong answer,” he said. “No matter what you say half the people are going to agree with you and half the people are going to disagree with you. That’s the one thing that sucks about being in the limelight.”
