On Friday, the U.S. announced it would only issue 90-day visas for Chinese reporters with no option of extension. The new rules come into force on Monday. Previously, visas were often open-ended and did not require extension, Reuters noted. Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak on Monday declared a state of emergency, citing “the anticipation” that the Caldor Fire would burn across the state line from California. The pilot program was approved unanimously on Tuesday by county supervisors, according to the East Bay Times, and is intended to help those who contract the virus and to curb its spread in the county.
